In April 1998, God impressed on the hearts of Mark & Lori Gittens to reach out in the city of Sunbury and the surrounding areas. They began by bringing car loads of youth to their home once a week to eat, play, answer the hard questions and read God’s word. After noticing a “for rent” sign in a storefront on Market Street, h2church was born. In June 1998, with a few mismatched plastic seats and an out of tune piano, services began.
Over the next few years God began taking a jumbled group of people and an unseasoned pastor and turn them into a church. By 2001, h2church moved to the lower level of Albright UMC. It wasn’t long until some of the challenges there outweighed the benefits. In October 2005 after a diligent search for a new location they moved their Sunday worship service to the Cinema Center movie theater at the Susquehanna Valley Mall in Selinsgrove. In April of 2011, they moved their Sunday worship service to the Selinsgrove Area Middle School auditorium. In January of 2015, services moved to The Albright Center in Sunbury (450 Chestnut Street).
